Crazy Finals week!

So this week has been crazy and it is only Tuesday! We have been trying to get our finals done, not to mention all the dishes that have been piling in the sink for a week...due to lack of time!...Tonight I was laying on couch feeling really sick. Zach came home from one of his finals and picked up his guitar and began to play and sing for me. He is the best. Really I wish I had a picture of him playing and singing tonight! He improvised a song about when we first met to where we are now. It made me get a little teary eyed because it is amazing to think of all the memories we have together, where we have been and where we are going.
Love is so wonderful. I am so glad that I have a husband who sings me songs, helps me feel better, can always make me laugh, and he is just all around good. I love you Zach!

Thanksgiving Feast 2010

So we recently got back from Arizona where we spent Thanksgiving. It was great.

Until I find some Thanksgiving pictures....Above is a little picture of Zach and I...I performed in a Halloween show for Manti Music and Dance. Zach was wonderful and came to see me do some ballet. The dance I did was very cool because I wore a glow in the dark tu tu and there were black lights. It was very neat. I will post a video soon:)

Anyway is'nt my Mr. so handsome? I sure think so.

Only in Ephraim...

So, Only in Ephraim do you pull up to the gas station, your car breaks down, and then 5 guys (random guys) might I add (except for Zach who is the 2nd man in from the left.) come up and start helping to fix your car! It is amazing! And they fixed the problem that even the auto shop could not figure out! (Thanks Aaron!) Ephraimites are the best. We, us and our married friends, were headed for a wonderful trip to the American Fork temple, because the Manti temple was closed for cleaning. We would not of gotten very far if it was not for these helpful men!

We love Ephraim!

ps. I took the picture from inside the car :)

Faith

This morning when I was studying my scriptures I read this in the Bible Dictionary under FAITH:

"The Lord has revealed himself and his perfect character, possessing in their fulness all the attributes of love, knowledge, justice, mercy, unchangeableness, power, and every other needful thing, so to enable the mind of man to place confidence in him without reservation.

Strong faith is developed by obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ."

And I thought to myself,

How amazing it is that we have the scriptures, which are made by God, we hear the creation story, which tells us of all the things that he has made. That we have countless scripture and church stories, that tell us of the nature of God. How great to have a living prophet who tells us once again the nature of our God, and the will of God.

In our church, Our Heavenly Father and our Savior show us what they have created, so that we might understand their love, their workings, their law, their very natures. BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM. As we learn of the 'fruits' that God and the Savior have, we draw closer to them. When we understand the Nature of God, and how God works, we can have UNRESERVED FAITH IN HIM. Because our faith is based on truths. Reality. The way things really are. God loves us. He is intimately concerned and connected to our daily lives. As we come to know him, we come to know ourselves.

Is'nt the gospel wonderful! Learning in the gospel makes life so enjoyable and Full!

Belated Halloween Post...

Scoop, and Billy here.
Our neighbors....Silky, and Moe had us over for dinner a few weeks ago for a Murder Mystery dinner. It was a blast. It was so fun to dress up and have fun with our AWESOME married friends!
I was "Scoop" the news reporter, and Zach was "Billy" a 1930's baseball star.

Happy Birthday ZACH ATTACK!

So this is a SUPER delayed post, and for that fact, I have been terrible at blogging for the last 4 months. Life has just been so wonderfully lived that I forgot to post what has been going on! We are doing GREAT! Zach came to me and said, "kylie I think you should start blogging again, I miss looking at our blog!" So, I am back! I am going to try to post once a week so that all our family out there can keep updated with the wonderful life of Zach and Kylie!

Zach is not 22! Wow. I met Zach when he was 17, so it is weird to think that it has been a wonderful 5 years so far since we met!

Below are a few things we did for his birthday....
My family and his family drove down for surprise party at Roy's Pizza. It was such a surprise for Zach...I mean just look at his face, with his happy birthday hat!
I do not know why we sat segregated, boys from girls, but the girls got to spend some quality girl time! Ooh I love FAMILY!
The next big surprise was a very LARGE SURPRISE PARTY IN OUR VERY SMALL COTTAGE! There were about 20 people crammed in our apartment when Zach and I got home from Institute class! It was so cute to see how surprised Zach was. We all love him so much! We played games, ate cake and talked and laughed and all that good stuff! (sorry the pics are not that great!)
Zach woke up to the fire alarm going off (due to me in the kitchen making "I love you" French toast and eggs) The fire alarm is right above the stove? who is the genius that did that! But He came out to this cute little sign I made, and delicious french toast, as seen below!

Every day I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful guy at my side. He is my best friend. I love laughing and being silly with him. I love to see him being the head of the household and taking his priesthood duties seriously. I love that he is so gentle and thoughtful. He is so good. Really I could not be happier! I love you Zach. Zacharius. Nichodimus. Mister. Omega Bean. Stacy o'malley.
You are the best!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Giddy like a school boy!

It's finally here! Zach has been dreaming about going to school (literally), because he has been so excited! This morning we had to take some pictures of him running (literally) to school, because he could not hold back the excitement!
This was Zach last night, before school started...He tried on his new shoes, new back pack, with a new laptop in it, his school supplies, and of course the Snow College binder! He is set! Look at that smile! Isn't he the best!

One thing I LOVE about Zach is that he LOVES to learn. From the first day that we have been married, he always as time in the day when he is studying all sorts of topics. During lunch or free time he will cruise through things on Wikipedia to get a good idea of what things are, how things work, etc. etc. He is awesome. I am so excited for him to begin his college career here at Snow!

You know its time for a new...

sock when your feet look like this...
And you play with REAL sock puppets....
and a new haricut, when your wife cannot resist putting your hair in a pony tail and taking a mug shot of you, to show off your "wild side".

Zachs Would you rathers...

So on the way to Nauvoo (which was a very long long drive) Zach asked me a few questions.....

Would you rather wash your body with a porcupine or a scorpion?

Would you rather walk the tight rope or lick a lions tooth?

Would sleep on the forest or next to some road kill?

My husband is a genius.

We love it!

We love it here in our new Sanpete, Sanctuary, Snow College home.

Zach got a job as a writer for the Sanpete Messenger Newspaper... Which is AWESOME!
I got a job teaching ballet and doing choreography at Snow College! Yeah!

We have GREAT neighbors.

We like Wal-Mart.

We are 5 min. away from everything we need to get to...except family.

We will be doing one of our favorite things alot...LEARNING.

and most importantly,
WE are in LOVE!
Life really is so full of blessings. I have a quote hung on my wall that reads;

"Your future is bright. It can exceed your fondest dreams and expectations. Not everything that happens in life will be as you have hoped and planned, but if you live so as to know the Lords will, you will find peace in your soul and great happiness. You will be among those who will enjoy the highest place of honor in human life." -Elder Faust

This is a wonderful time to be alive. There is goodness all around. Even in the hardest of times, Heavenly Father is in control, and loves us perfectly.

"We give praise to the Lord by praising the good, the Light, and the truth around us."

The Cottage

We moved!
This is our new lovely home located at the "The Cottages". Zach and I packed up the Uhaul, with the help of his family, and we cruised down to Ephraim Utah where Zach is going to go to Snow college and I will attend the Utah State University Extension Program. We are so excited, like giddy school children! Our little place, I mean really little place, has treated us well so far. It is literally right across the street from the brand spankin new Library! We practically live RIGHT ON campus. I will be teaching Ballet at the Snow College Ballet Conservatory, which is right next to our house. Zach will have his classes all with in 5 minutes walking distance, and WE will be having the time of our lives. The air is already beginning to have that fall chill in the air when the sun sets, so it is nice to open all the windows and get excited for all the fall festivities! We feel so blessed. These are the good times. It truly is so fun to be on this little adventure of ours, starting out in a teeny, tiny apartment, with alot of love and opportunity! Wish us luck!

Oh yeah, I threw this picture in here because that day was wonderful! It was Zach's last day of work before we moved so we went on a special date to Macaroni Grill (with wedding gift card... Thank you!) and then got yummy gelato at Costco for 3$ for the both of us! It is the best. Zach is the best. Life is the best.
This is our front door, and main closet we have for all the storage we can possibly think of! Notice the framed letter "P"....I made that from paper at roberts, cut out a linen P, and framed it in a Saver's 2$ frame. I am pretty proud of the piece of work, and the Power last name!
This kind of shows the kitcthen...Zach and I found the table and chairs at 2 garage sales, painted them, and made a little table cloth. The furniture is from a lady in out ward who moved to a rest home, so we were so grateful that she thought of us!
And this is my favorite wall! All the right pictures are not in the right frames yet, but My mom came down to help us move in, and we were up till midnight hanging this master collage...Zach accidentally calls it the "mirage"... just a thrifty note...I got these frames either at Savers, DI or had them from before I got married. The lamp was 3$ at DI, and I got the book shelf when I first started my college career.
Well I need to still go unpack some boxes, and get organized. Pictures of the bedroom and office coming soon!

Nauvoo 2010: Operation Family Reunion

Zach and I drove out to Nauvoo with his unlce Preston and Aunt Marilyn and family. WE HAD A BLAST! Some of Zach's family live in Nauvoo so we were able to stay with them. This family reunion was HUGE...just think Grandma Melba has 73 grandchildren, with more on the way! It was awesome. We really loved seeing the sites, learning about the early church history, and playing with all the cousins. Here are just a few pictures from the trip...enjoy!At Jopseph and Emma Smith's grave.
The tour guide asked us all to ponder about what the Lord did for the Pioneers, and what he does for us, when we got to the end of the Trail of Hope. The Trail of Hope is where the saints lined up on a freezing winter morning to cross the Mississippi and begin their trek west ward to Zion. I snapped a picture of Zach while he was thinking, because the experience was very special. We both have testimonies of God, and that He truly is intimately concerned and connected with out everyday lives.

Here is Grandma Peterson! She is on a mission in Nauvoo and loves it! She performs and gives tours, so it was fun to have all the family there while she was serving.
ps. this was the sky when we got home from Nauvoo. It was absolutely beautiful.
Here it is. This temple is laced with beauty. It truly is an emblem of such Faith, and Sacrifice. Zachery decided that this is his favorite temple. We were able to go through it and feel the peace that is there.
Muscles?
We play Hopscotch while we kiss....
This was taken in front of Carthage Jail where Joseph Smith was Martyred.
Nikki, Trent, Kylie, Zach....(Trent is one of Zach's favorite cousins) We loved being with them.
We loved the trip and would highly suggest that everyone makes trip out to Old Nauvoo with in their life time!

Our first ever Power Family FOOD STORAGE!!

Yay!

Sleep Talking

The other day I woke up in the night. Then I heard Kylie say "And please bless this dear family. In the name of Jesus Christ." I said in the dark "Amen" to her sleeping prayer. I reached over to pat her and felt her hands clasped in a praying fashion on her fast asleep self. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a quant little grin on her face. I love this girl. She is a charm, even when she is asleep and praying for families.

Leila Anne Finlinson is here!

So I am a little slow getting these pictures up, but my 3rd little niece was born a few days ago and is beautiful as ever! I am so happy for my brother Tyson and his wife Bethany to have two adorable daughters now! Eden can be seen kissing Leila's little head. Tyson is currently in medical school in Missouri so we don't see much of them since they moved a year ago, but they are coming here to UTAH for July and we could not be more excited!
She definitely is a keeper!

A word from the wise...

Look who I found at Mesa Thrift...

So, Zach and I were in Arizona so we decided to go to one of MY FAVORITE places...MESA THRIFT. I was meandering through the isles finding all sorts of treasures, as this man, pictured below walked past me hastily wearing this interesting outfit, with a hat that looked like a bad wig...the BOOM! It was Zach! hahahahaahahaahahaha. I laughed. HE is the best! I put this cool hat on to take a picture......This is how he walked past me, that face and all....
Then wow, a movie star from High School musical was also at Mesa Thrift! can you believe it! I got his autograph to prove that I saw him.
And then these two were also at Mesa Thrift, P.J. Smithie and his wife Carla. They were all the rage a few years back...

Its good to have a fun friend like Zach Power as a husband. He makes life so entertaining!

What we have been up to...

Zach and I have taken up facepainting! This is a picture of a girls face that I did while at a birthday party. Zach is great at doing all sorts of faces, while I like to stay safely in the butterfly, and princess realm...
This was aunt Becky's very cute face painting booth where Zach and I will some times paint faces for hours on end, at a very quick pace to make a little extra cash, and have a little fun!
We also went to the best, annual Edward Partridge family reunion in Oak City Utah, the Center of the Universe. It is a family favorite, complete with home made sour dough pancakes, a small town, family, and shared stories of grandpa and grandma. This was Zach's first year to experience the thrill of it all! ha.
Oh yeah, this is my dad with Lydia's hair....Had to throw this one in...
Zach and cousin Blake from Arizona, I do not know why they are making those faces? And yet they still look nice...
The famous grave site of Grandma Lydia..whom my Lydia was named after.
WE babysat a family for a week while their parents were on a cruise, and Zach and I got a little hands on family experience....
One of the girls, Ashton, on the left, is in one of my Ballet classes that I teach at the Pointe! Aren't they so cute!
Well that all for now.
More updates coming soon.
