Leila Anne Finlinson is here!

So I am a little slow getting these pictures up, but my 3rd little niece was born a few days ago and is beautiful as ever! I am so happy for my brother Tyson and his wife Bethany to have two adorable daughters now! Eden can be seen kissing Leila's little head. Tyson is currently in medical school in Missouri so we don't see much of them since they moved a year ago, but they are coming here to UTAH for July and we could not be more excited!
She definitely is a keeper!

A word from the wise...

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your won. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go."

Look who I found at Mesa Thrift...

So, Zach and I were in Arizona so we decided to go to one of MY FAVORITE places...MESA THRIFT. I was meandering through the isles finding all sorts of treasures, as this man, pictured below walked past me hastily wearing this interesting outfit, with a hat that looked like a bad wig...the BOOM! It was Zach! hahahahaahahaahahaha. I laughed. HE is the best! I put this cool hat on to take a picture......This is how he walked past me, that face and all....
Then wow, a movie star from High School musical was also at Mesa Thrift! can you believe it! I got his autograph to prove that I saw him.
And then these two were also at Mesa Thrift, P.J. Smithie and his wife Carla. They were all the rage a few years back...

Its good to have a fun friend like Zach Power as a husband. He makes life so entertaining!

What we have been up to...

Zach and I have taken up facepainting! This is a picture of a girls face that I did while at a birthday party. Zach is great at doing all sorts of faces, while I like to stay safely in the butterfly, and princess realm...
This was aunt Becky's very cute face painting booth where Zach and I will some times paint faces for hours on end, at a very quick pace to make a little extra cash, and have a little fun!
We also went to the best, annual Edward Partridge family reunion in Oak City Utah, the Center of the Universe. It is a family favorite, complete with home made sour dough pancakes, a small town, family, and shared stories of grandpa and grandma. This was Zach's first year to experience the thrill of it all! ha.
Oh yeah, this is my dad with Lydia's hair....Had to throw this one in...
Zach and cousin Blake from Arizona, I do not know why they are making those faces? And yet they still look nice...
The famous grave site of Grandma Lydia..whom my Lydia was named after.
WE babysat a family for a week while their parents were on a cruise, and Zach and I got a little hands on family experience....
One of the girls, Ashton, on the left, is in one of my Ballet classes that I teach at the Pointe! Aren't they so cute!
Well that all for now.
More updates coming soon.

Thank you HAYDEN,

Dear Hayden,
I took a picture of this paper you had printed in your bedroom when I visited you in Ephraim last semester. You are my hero. Really. Honestly. I think about you all the time and how you live your life. I know that you know what is good and right. Your example is priceless to me. You are diligent. strong. a leader. faithful at journal writing, and scripture reading. honest. fun to be with. and charismatic. to only name a few. You are a brother I can always count on to be there for me. I love talking with you, even when you think that I am being silly and your "weird" sister. Thanks for always loving me with words, hugs, anaconda squeezes, tackles, bear hugs, etc. etc. You will always be my "Baby Hayden".
Love you the most,
Ky

Hayden is one of the new senators down on the Snow college Student Government. He will be down with Zach and I in our "Sanpete Sanctuary".

(ps. we match! look below! This was at Liberty Jail.)

He is so adventurous and took us to Zions National Park for a little Canyoneering Xtreme Team 09.

Hayden has a way with the little nieces, Eden and Eva. As long as I can remember, Hayden is always loved by the little kiddies.

Love you Buddy.

Wonderful Thought

Said President Brigham Young:

I have heard a great many tell about what they have suffered for Christ's sake. I am happy to say I never had occasion to. I have enjoyed a great deal, but so far as suffering goes I have compared it a great many times, in my feelings and before congregations, to a man wearing an old, worn-out, tattered and dirty coat, and somebody comes along and gives him one that is new, whole and beautiful. This is the comparison I draw when I think of what I've suffered for the Gospel's sake--I have thrown away an old coat and have put on a new one. [Discourses of Brigham Young, comp. John A. Widtsoe (Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1973), p. 348]

The saints never suffer as the sinners do, President Young explained:

As to trials, why bless your hearts, the man or woman who enjoys the spirit of our religion has no trials; but the man or woman who tries to live according to the Gospel of the Son of God, and at the same time clings to the spirit of the world, has trials and sorrows acute and keen, and that, too, continually.

Cast off the yoke of the enemy, and put on the yoke of Christ, and you will say that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. This I know by experience. [Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 348]

Do you know one reason why righteous mothers love their children so much? It's because they sacrifice so much for them. We love what we sacrifice for, and we sacrifice for what we love. (President Benson, BYU Devotional, Jesus Christ Gifts and Expectations)

Always Learning

Recently Zach and I have been learning and discussing a few things that are so helpful in life,

1. Know this that every soul is free, to choose his life and what he'll be. (LDS Hymn)
2. We are not in charge of others choices.
3. Life comes in moments.
4. Beauty in life is found in commonplace, daily happenings.
5. Parents are really important in the shaping of children.
6. Thoughts shape our attitudes, attitudes shape our character, character shapes our behavior.
7. Hard work pays off.

It is nice to have a constant friend, who always has good input and insight into wonderful discussions on the truths of life. Its good to be married.

Welcome to the Power Family....

This is a little late, considering that these pictures were taken at Macie's Birthday in April, but I found this one located above and had to but it up. Seriously what are all those faces? Who knows. What is Zach and I always looked like that? Welcome to the Power's, would you like to come in?
The Finlinson Familia, missing Hayden, Tyson, Bethany, Eden and baby #2
